Known as a “classic massage” in many countries, the Swedish massage is the best known and most widely practiced type of massage therapy. There are a variety of techniques used in Swedish massage including circular pressure applied by the hands and palms, firm kneading, light tapping, and more.

The significant benefits of Swedish Massage make it clear that a regular massage regimen is more than a luxury, but indeed an important ingredient in the cultivation of physical and emotional well-being. Maybe you just want a “relaxation” massage. But know, that in your relaxation, you are also taking care of both your body and mind in fundamental yet important ways.
Relaxation. Swedish Massage both calms the nervous system and relaxes muscular tension.
Reduces Stress. Many of us live demanding lives, both overscheduled and over-worked. Stress can manifest in the body with increased muscle tension and sometimes pain. Stress can manifest in the mind with increased worry or anxiety. Swedish Massage helps to clear the body and mind of unwanted responses to stress.
ncrease Flexibility. Swedish Massage will elongate the muscles, open the joints and decrease swelling, all of which will ease movement and increase flexibility.
Improve Posture. While postural imbalances have many sources, including overworked muscles due to repetitive strain, overcompensating muscles to ease stress on overworked muscles, prolonged sitting, or injury, Swedish Massage helps to ease the muscular holding that underlies postural imbalance.
Improve Blood Circulation. Massage dilates the blood vessels and widens the membrane pores in the body, improving your body’s ability to deliver fresh blood to muscles and organs.
Endorphin Release to Improve Mood. Research shows increased serotonin and dopamine in massage recipients, improving their mood and feeling of emotional well-being.
Flush out Metabolic Byproducts. As massage stimulates circulation, it flushes out lactic acid and uric acid that build up in muscles due to overuse.

Rolfing® Structural Intergration
Rolfing® is a system of soft tissue manipulation and movement education that organizes the whole body in gravity. Rolfing bodywork affects the body’s posture and structure by manipulating the myofascial system (connective tissue).

Rolfing® promotes mobility
Rolfing® can resolve unhealthy patterns in the body’s fascial network. After Rolfing®, fascia and muscle layers glide more freely on each other and joint mobility is enhanced. As a result, mobility and flexibility are promoted throughout the body. Range of motion increases, and movement becomes smoother and more graceful. (see Rolfing® SI and Fascia)
Rolfing® can enhance breathing
One of Rolfing®’s objectives is to free breathing. Complete and deep inhalation should be as effortless as possible, exhalation should be relaxed and allow a person to let go. In order to breath freely, Rolfing® focuses on enhancing thoracic mobility and allowing each breath to spread throughout the entire body. Myofascial tissues on the front of the rib cage and shoulder girdle are often short. As a result, the ribs cannot move freely with each inhalation – something that occurs 15,000 to 20,000 times every day. Over time, the shortness in these frontal structures often increases not only limiting breathing, but creating restrictions in organ mobility as well. In many cases, even a single Rolfing® session can often bring considerable relief.
Rolfing® improves posture
Rolfing® is a process that systematically reorganizes the body by adjusting imbalances in the myofascial tissue so that the body can reorganize itself with less effort. Our bodies get the opportunity to make use of gravity — being supported by it, rather than feeling pulled down. Observing the body from one side during the Rolfing® 10-Series, the ears, shoulders, pelvis, knees, and ankles will increasingly align themselves along this vertical line. The body’s structure becomes balanced.
Rolfing® leads to greater balance and stability
As the body develops effortless upright posture and enhanced mobility, most clients experience a feeling of being lighter overall – while walking and standing. At the same time, they find stronger support from the ground. Their feet make better contact and they perceive their feet and legs to provide a more secure base. As a result, they stand more stably,
Rolfing® can alleviate pain
Strain and discomfort in the body resulting from tensional imbalances and movement impairments can be relieved through Rolfing®. This is how back pain, painful tension in the neck and shoulders, headaches, as well as hip, knee, and foot discomfort can be alleviated and resolved; and, these improvements are mostly long-lasting.
Rolfing® improves proprioception (body perception)
Clients re-learn how to feel and experience their own bodies through Rolfing®. For example, they become aware of questions that they might never have asked themselves before:
How do I breathe?

> How do I walk?
> When do I pull up my shoulders?
> How does my body react when I’m stressed?
Proprioceptive learning is promoted through the Rolfer™’s manual work, verbal instructions and guided movements. However, clients participate actively throughout. Their newly gained body perception helps them be aware of, quickly identify and eliminate old movement habits. And, if they reappear, it is easier for clients to become aware and correct unfavorable posture or detrimental movements patterns. Thus, enhanced proprioception leads to increased body awareness, which is one key to Rolfing®’s long-term beneficial effects.
Hellerwork® Structural Intergration
Hellerwork is a system of bodywork that combines structural alignment, body movement education, and verbal dialogue. It is designed to realign the body’s structure for overall health, improvement of posture, and reduction of physical and mental stress.
Hellerwork improves posture and brings the body’s natural structure into proper balance and alignment. This realignment can bring relief from general aches and pains; improve breathing; and relieve physical and mental stress.
Hellerwork has also been used to treat such specific physical problems as chronic back, neck, shoulder, and joint pain as well as repetitive stress injuries, including carpal tunnel syndrome. It’s frequently used to treat and prevent athletic injuries.

Hot Stones promotes deeper muscle relaxation through the placement of smooth, water-heated stones at key points on the body. The direct heat of the stones relaxes muscles, allowing the therapist access to deeper muscle layers. This relaxing treatment is only available with a 90-minute massage session.
Benifits of Hot Stones
Hot Stone Massage is deeply detoxifying and profoundly relaxing. By combining massage with hot stones, the circulatory system is both stimulated and relaxed. This circulatory activity promotes the release of toxins from the muscles, assisting the body in self-healing. In addition, tense muscles are also softened and eased by the deeply penetrating heat of the stones. Pain and muscle spasms are banished and a feeling of peacefulness and spiritual well-being takes hold. The combined effect prompts a state of enhanced relaxation that washes away stress and sets the stage for re-energizing and rejuvenating the body, mind and spirit.
